An old postman was famous in town for taking a little longer than everyone else to finish his route.
One morning, his new supervisor asked suspiciously,
“Why do you always spend so much time at the retirement community?”
The postman smiled.
“I’m searching for love letters.”
The supervisor frowned.
“Love letters? At their age?”
“Exactly!” the postman replied. “Those letters are priceless!”
Curious, the supervisor followed him the next day.
The postman carefully handed an elderly lady a faded envelope tied with a ribbon.
She kissed it, smiled from ear to ear, and slipped him a homemade cookie.
The supervisor whispered,
“So… did her old boyfriend write that?”
The postman burst out laughing.
“No! Her husband of 62 years writes her a love letter every Monday… because he says if he tells her in person, she’ll only remind him to fix the leaking roof!”
