It\u2019s devastating to even think about how heartbroken all abandoned dogs feel when they realize that their owners rejected them and kicked them out of their lives for good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly, dog owners often dump their dogs in a heartless way and put their lives in danger without showing any concern for their wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dog from Kentucky felt disappointed and confused after his owners tied him to a small tree and left him in a bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The canine was desperately waiting for his family to come back, but as days went by, he started accepting the fact that he had been abandoned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dog Gets Saved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The residents spotted the dog, later named Dubya, hiding in the bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they realized that nobody came to care for him for three days, one of the neighbors called  Louisville Metro Animal Services<\/a> and notified them about the heartbreaking situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The neighbor said that Dubya showed aggression when they approached him, but when the officer arrived at the scene, she discovered that the dog was actually very friendly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rope he was tied with was short, and next to the pup, there was an empty pink bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer cut the leash and set Dubya free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pup was thrilled that his nightmare was over<\/strong> and he began wagging his tail. He looked up at his rescuer with his adorable cross-eyed gaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officer drove him to Metro Animal Services where he was examined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, although Dubya spent three days in the bush, he was in good health overall. He only had some bug bites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pup, estimated to be around three years old, started getting treatment for entropion, an eye condition that makes his lower eyelids fold in and causes his eyes to become watery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubya didn\u2019t have a microchip and nobody knows who tied him up and dumped him in the bush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding Into The Sunset With His New Dad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After the shelter shared the pup\u2019s story on Facebook<\/a>, the community members were relieved to know that Dubya was alright, but they were upset because the caller waited three days to notify the shelter about the pup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe definitely do not recommend waiting [that long]. If you see a dog tied to something with no one around, we would recommend calling animal control. Even if the dog doesn\u2019t seem in distress, things can change really quickly,\u201d<\/em> Stephanie Jackson, public information officer at Metro Animal Services told The Dodo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the ordeal he went through, he was a sweet and playful pup who quickly stole the hearts of the staff and volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They enjoyed spending time with him and getting to know his personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe is very, very, very goofy and affectionate,\u201d<\/em> Jackson added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Since Dubya was bursting with energy and loved adventure<\/strong>, his shelter friends were certain that he would flourish in an active home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 13th<\/sup> of 2025, the Louisville shelter posted an amazing update on their social media that warmed the hearts of Dubya\u2019s well-wishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pup got adopted and he was over the moon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
