My\u00a0name is\u00a0Bella, and I\u2019m 24\u00a0years old. Recently, I\u00a0lost my\u00a0mom. I\u00a0knew that my\u00a0life wouldn\u2019t be\u00a0the same anymore, but\u00a0I didn\u2019t expect it\u00a0to\u00a0flip that much.<\/em>So, my dad (59) married Lucy (27) and keeps forcing me to \u201cbe friends\u201d with her. I feel sick. At dinner, my dad started again, so I snapped: \u201cShe\u2019s closer to my age than you, and she\u2019ll never be family to me.\u201d Lucy just smirked.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, I froze when I saw that Lucy had taken down all my mom\u2019s old photos from the living room. When I confronted her, she said, \u201cSince we\u2019re not family, don\u2019t expect me to treat you like one. Your mom isn\u2019t my family either.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will lose both, your dad is trying to move forward with what he wants. He\u2019s doesn\u2019t care to understand where you are at, is all about him and his new toy. You need to understand that he has the right to make decisions even if you don\u2019t agree. She may be the one that helps him through this time. Don\u2019t do anything you will regret. Explain to him all you can do is try ask for the photos and your mom\u2019s things so you can have some keepsakes. Some people can just move forward quickly and some can\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
