Fritz hopes justice will be served for the cruel act\u2014but his main concern now is Dory\u2019s recovery and future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI can\u2019t stop thinking about what could have happened if I hadn\u2019t gone fishing that day,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I\u2019d arrived an hour later, or decided not to fish there, she might not have made it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fritz\u2019s heroic actions have since drawn local and national attention. Social media users flooded the story with praise and support, commending his bravery and compassion. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t about being a hero,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was just something I had to do. If you see a life in danger, you don\u2019t turn away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The hospital staff echoed that sentiment, calling Fritz\u2019s quick thinking and willingness to dive into freezing water \u201cnothing short of life-saving.\u201d Many people have reached out offering help for Dory\u2019s care or expressing interest in adopting her, but Fritz remains hopeful that he will be the one to bring her home permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe\u2019s already part of our lives,\u201d he said. \u201cKrystal and I talk about her constantly. We\u2019re preparing our home for her.
