She played football with able-bodied friends, and at 14, became the first British quadruple amputee to learn snowboarding. At an international meet in April 2019, she shattered British, European, and world records in butterfly and breaststroke. Later that year, she earned a bronze medal at the World Para Swimming Championships in London, all while keeping her eyes firmly on Tokyo.
